What is DSL?

DSL is a technology that uses existing telephone lines to provide you with speeds much faster than dialup. It also allows you to use the internet without tying up your phoneline so you are free to surf without worrying about missing an important phone call.

Is there any additional hardware required?

Yes, additional hardware is required. DSL service requires that you have line filters and most importantly a DSL modem. GLIS can provide these items to you in an easy to setup self-installation kit (including 2 line filters) for $39.00 + tax. If you wish you can purchase the required hardware yourself; however, GLIS cannot guarantee that customer purchased hardware will work with our service. Customers who already have DSL in an AT&T service area can use their existing DSL modem.

Your computer must have an ethernet adapter to use DSL. If you are unsure if you have an ethernet adapter, you may check by looking for a plug on the back of your computer that is slightly bigger than a normal phone plug. If you cannot find this plug, you probably do not have an ethernet adapter and you will have to obtain one in order to use DSL. GLIS can provide one for you at a charge of $19.00 + tax including installation if you bring your computer to our office.

Am I committed to a contract?

All GLIS DSL packages do not require a contract. If you wish you may prepay for a year at a time and save up to $70 per year. In the event that you sign up for a prepaid yearly account you are required to keep the service for a year or certain termination penalties may apply. Please see our Terms of Service for more information.

How is the service billed?

You will receive one bill from GLIS for your DSL service. You will not receive any bills from AT&T for your DSL service. We have done this to make paying for DSL as easy as possible.

Do you provide any anti-virus and/or firewall software?

GLIS utilizes the latest in virus and spam filtering to protect your email. We also utilize the latest in network firewall software to try our best and protect your system while it is connected to our network. We do not; however, provide any anti-virus and/or firewall software to our customers. It is our recommendation; however, that all GLIS subscribers use the latest anti-virus and firewall solutions.

Can I switch my my existing DSL service to GLIS?

Yes, most DSL customers that have SBC local phone service can switch their DSL to GLIS. Please use the form below and select the "transfer" option to let us know that you currently have DSL service.

Are there any activation / signup fees?

There is a nominal activation fee for all DSL accounts ranging from $15.95 to $19.95 depending on the level of service that you choose. Equipment and on-site installation charges may apply.

What do I need to do to signup?

Just fill out the form below and we'll check the availability of DSL to your phone line. We'll try our hardest to get a response back to you in 24 hours or less. If you qualify you will be sent an email with the plans that you qualify for as well as a copy of the contract you will need to sign and return to us.
