Our Mission:
Great Lakes Internet Service strives to offer a reliable and cost effective internet experience. Protection of your privacy is our primary objective and we do not sell, barter or expose your personal information to any third party.
Our Network:
Our network is currently located in Fremont , Ohio. Cisco, Linksys, D-Link, and 3COM equipment is currently used to maintain reliable internet access for our customers.
Our customers are serviced utilizing 207+ modem ports. Advanced compression algorithms are used on all of our dial-up connections to improve the speed at which our users browse the internet. We currently keep our user to modem ratio below national averages of eight users to one modem port. This helps to ensure a lack of busy-signals that users may experience with other Internet Service Providers.
Our network is currently connected to the Internet via an ATM IMA circuit to SBCGlobal/AT&T as well as a fiber connection to Buckeye Telecom. This extra bandwidth ensures that our customers are able to browse the internet at above average speeds even during peak hours.
Our customer's email is protected using the latest spam, virus, and phish scanners from Barracuda. The Barracuda email filtering system strives to block 99% of spam from entering our users mailboxes.
All of our core servers utilize the latest in Microsoft Windows™ Operating Systems for increased reliability.
Our Staff:
Bobbie Jo: Billing - Bobbie heads our billing department. She currently assists Margaret in daily billing procedures as well as customer billing inquires.
Michael: Technician - Michael is our head Technician. He currently watches over our hardware as well as answers customer questions.
Margaret: Accounting - Margaret is the owner of The Computer Loft, Inc. She currently handles all of our accounting and book-keeping operations.
Brandon: Network Administrator - Brandon currently maintains our servers and the network as well as answers customer questions. He is a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), A+ Computer Professional, and Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT).
